Job Overview

My client is seeking to hire a Painters Apprentice performs supporting duties to assist journeyman painters. This candidater is hired to work mostly daytime weekday shifts, but evening, weekend, and on-call hours are sometimes required. Travel is frequently required for this job, as Painters Apprentices go to and from supply houses, job sites, and the company shop. Painters Apprentices work in a team environment while reporting to a foreman or supervisor.

Painters Apprentice Duties and Responsibilities

Perform supporting duties to assist journeyman painters;

Erecting Scaffolding

Cleaning work areas and equipment

Smoothing surfaces of articles to be painted, using sanding and buffing tools and equipment.

Applying protective covering such as masking tape to articles or areas that could be damaged or stained by work processes.

Filling cracks or breaks in surfaces of plaster articles or areas with putty or epoxy compounds

Keep Track of Inventory

Painters Apprentice keeps track of inventory so new materials can be ordered as needed. Painters Apprentice who operate out of a service truck are responsible for maintaining all the inventory stored there.

Communication skills - Painters Apprentice use verbal communication skills to work as part of a collaborative construction crew, report to supervisors, and relay material needs to supply houses and inventory managers
Physical stamina - Painters Apprentices work indoors and out, in all weather conditions, while laying, bending, squatting, and stretching, which are tasks that require physical fitness
Attention to detail - Painters Apprentice use analytical skills and good attention to detail

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour, or more based on experience.
